Every player attacks from some distances better than others. Approach fit measures how much of a course’s approaches land in each player’s “go-zone” — the yardage buckets where he beats the field average. A course that keeps asking for his best yardages is a good fit; one that exposes his weak ones isn’t. Driving distance is adjusted per course for what wind, elevation, and strategy do to drives there.
